The air purifier

The Airthings Wave Plus is a device to monitor the air quality in your home. This small device monitors a number of different pollutants that can be harmful to your health.
Everyday use

Continuous monitoring of your indoor air quality is necessary to minimize adverse health effects. We spend 90% of our time indoors. Measuring indoor air quality (IAQ) is one of the most important steps we can take to prevent illness and increase productivity, energy and health.
Several sensors

Airthings has several sensors capable of detecting :
Radon, it comes from radioactive decay, the decay of natural uranium found in most soils. As a gas in the ground, it enters buildings through small openings in the foundations. When radon gas decays, it emits radioactive radiation in the form of an alpha particle/wave and Airthings Wave can measure these particles/alpha waves.
CO2, CO2 is linked to a number of adverse effects on the body such as headaches, shortness of breath, increased heart rate and drowsiness. Although it does not have the same impact as radon, high levels of this gas are certainly undesirable in the home.

How Airthings work

Simply wave your hand in front of the device, a ring of LEDs lights up in the colour of the traffic lights to indicate the current air quality. A green light means that everything is fine, an amber light warns you that levels are going in the wrong direction and a red light means that something has exceeded the upper limit and you need to take action.
Application

The Airthings application and online dashboard allow you to view, compare and export data for your specific needs. In the application, the main screen displays the same color ring system and gives you an overview of each of the levels monitored. If you have multiple devices, you can select them from a drop-down list at the top of the screen. You can then explore each of the monitored items and see a graph of the last 48 hours, weeks, months or years.
Easy to use

The installation of the device is relatively simple. You download the application to your App Store and then follow the pairing procedure. The device connects to your phone via Bluetooth and once set up, it synchronizes periodically or whenever you open the application. When the configuration is complete, the application informs you that the device needs to be calibrated for 7 days.
