This smoke and carbon monoxide detector uses advanced firmware technology to quickly detect fires, giving you valuable extra time to exit, while minimizing false alarms caused by everyday cooking or steam.
Equipped with a 10-year backup battery, this alarm provides continuous protection even during power outages, reducing the chance of unmonitored periods in your home.
This detector can be hardwired and connected with other Kidde alarms so that when one sounds, they all activate simultaneously, ensuring wide coverage and faster alerting to danger.
The detector beeps and blinks a red LED warning light, while voice alerts clearly announce whether it’s fire or carbon monoxide, giving you instant clarity on the situation so you can respond appropriately.
Clear Voice Alerts Make It Feel Extra Safe
I bought this to replace an old detector and immediately liked that it handles both smoke and carbon monoxide in one unit. The spoken alerts that say “Fire!” or “Warning! Carbon Monoxide!” are very clear, which feels a lot more helpful than just a beeping noise. My husband hardwired it into our existing 120V setup without any trouble, and I appreciate not having to think about changing batteries all the time with the long backup life.
Rock-solid dual protection and voice alerts, but installation isn’t totally plug-and-play
The combined smoke and CO detection plus the clear voice alerts (“Fire!” or “Warning! Carbon Monoxide!”) make this feel like a serious upgrade in home safety. I really appreciate the 10-year battery backup and hardwired setup, since it means no more climbing a ladder every year to swap batteries and fewer nuisance alarms from normal cooking. That said, the 120V AC wiring and interconnect feature may be intimidating if you’re not comfortable with electrical work, and it’s not as simple as a basic battery-only detector. I’d still recommend it for homeowners or long-term renters who want a set-it-and-forget-it safety system and don’t mind either DIY wiring or hiring an electrician for proper installation.
Clear Voice Alerts and No More Random Beeping
I picked this up to replace an old detector that loved to chirp at 3 a.m. for low batteries. The hardwired setup with a 10-year backup battery is a big relief, and I really like that it clearly says “Fire!” or “Warning! Carbon Monoxide!” instead of just a mystery beeping sound. We’ve noticed fewer false alarms from cooking, and having all the alarms go off together makes the whole house feel better protected.
