Smarter FridgeCam is a small Wi-Fi camera for your fridge. It aims to reduce waste by allowing you to see what's in your fridge.
What's in my fridge?
Once installed, FridgeCam takes a picture of the contents of your fridge every time the door is closed. The device is connected to the internet and sends the photos to you on its application wherever you are. This is ideal if you need to remember what's in the fridge before you go shopping for dinner ingredients on your way home.
Food Recognition
The camera uses food recognition software that can track what's in your fridge. Simply scan the food barcode on the FridgeCam application every time you put something inside. With the application, you can indicate the use-by date of a product. For foods without barcodes, such as fruits and vegetables, simply add them manually. The application will tell you when the expiry date of the food is close and will inform you when it is about to expire.
The application
With FridgeCam your fridge becomes a smart device, the application notifies you if a food has been used or is not perceived by the camera. The application will ask you to highlight where it is in the fridge or add it to your shopping list. Every time you open and close the fridge door, the FridgeCam takes a picture and updates the application, so you can get a continuously updated visual diary of what's happening in your fridge.
Connectivity
FridgeCam is installed in the refrigerator door with a suction cup holder and uses the wifi connection. You can also connect it with Alexa from Amazon and IFTTT services to facilitate your shopping list but also to connect it to other devices in the house.
