It's a GREAT telescope
This telescope is perfect for a beginner, can be set up in about 10 minutes, and is easily aligned by pointing at three bright objects in the sky. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
All in all very happy with my order, would recommend this to anyone looking to add a more advanced telescope to their collection. The telescope can be a little intimidating for those new to the hobby, but with a little research, you will like it! We are still learning this telescope and every thing we learn only improves our experience. It's a great choice for those just entering the hobby or coming out of a starting scope.
I'm very impressed after my first night out with the Nexstar 8. The build is high quality even though some plastic components are, well, plastic! :-) The optics seem well made and sharp. The mechanical elements are robust. Installation and disassembly are a breeze. The whole rig fits in the trunk of my mini cooper which means I can get to a better viewing site easily.
