One of those boring buys that actually helps me sleep better
We recently got a gas heater and I realized we didn’t have a single carbon monoxide detector in the house—instant anxiety. This one was super easy to set up: popped in the batteries, hit the test button, and it was good to go on our hallway wall. I like that it runs on batteries (so it still works in an outage) and the lights/alerts are very clear, but not obnoxious during normal use. Feels like a small thing that makes the house a lot safer.

This carbon monoxide detector is extremely easy to set up—just pop in the included AA batteries and either mount it or place it on a shelf, no wiring needed. The green power light and loud 85 dB alarm with red LED make it very clear when it’s active or detecting something, and the event memory is reassuring for checking whether it’s gone off recently. On the downside, the alarm tone is very shrill (startling at night), and the overall plastic housing feels a bit cheaper than I’d like for a safety device. I’d still recommend it for renters, small homes, and anyone wanting a simple, battery-powered backup to complement hardwired detectors.
