PC-level VR in a standalone headset… with a few catches
I picked up the VIVE Focus Vision because I wanted high-end PC VR visuals without turning my living room into a sensor jungle, and I was tired of juggling cables and dongles. The 5K clarity and 120° FOV really do make a difference, and the 90 Hz feels buttery for gaming and VRChat. Eye tracking and low-light hand tracking are surprisingly good when they behave, and the auto-IPD makes it way easier to share the headset. That said, the comfort is just ‘okay’ out of the box, the Ethernet PC streaming setup is a bit fiddly, and you’ll definitely want to tweak audio or use your own headphones. If you’re into social VR or productivity and don’t mind some setup time, it’s a powerful, future-looking headset—but not a totally friction-free one yet.
