Brilliant hands‑free golf GPS with a few everyday‑use compromises
The TecTecTec Team8 E earbuds are fantastic on the course: yardages to the front, middle, and back of the green are clear and quick, and hazard distances with a double‑tap make club selection noticeably easier. Audio quality for music and calls is solid for a golf gadget, and the 9‑hour battery with Qi wireless charging easily covers a full round. The downside is that the touch controls can be a bit finicky when you’re adjusting them with a glove on, and there’s a learning curve to remember all the tap patterns while also using them as regular earbuds. I’d still recommend them for golfers who regularly walk or play solo and want GPS guidance without a watch or handheld, but casual players who mainly want everyday earbuds might find them a bit over-featured for their needs.
Surprisingly clutch on the course (with a couple quirks)
I picked these up because I was tired of juggling my rangefinder, phone app, and earbuds every round. I just wanted to walk up to my ball, look at the shot, and *hear* the yardage without digging in my pockets.

The Team8 E pretty much nails that. Tap once, it tells you front/middle/back. Double-tap, it calls out hazards so I’m not guessing if that bunker is really in play. The GPS distances have been within a yard or two of my laser on most holes, which is plenty accurate for me. Sound quality is solid—definitely better than “golf gadget” level and more like decent everyday earbuds.

Battery life has been enough for a full 18 (even 27 once) with music at low–medium volume, and Qi charging is convenient. They stay in my ears when I swing, and the call quality is good enough that my wife can’t tell I’m on the 7th fairway. Downsides: touch controls can be a little too sensitive at first (I accidentally triggered yardages while adjusting them), and there’s a short learning curve figuring out the taps. Once you get used to it, though, it’s actually pretty seamless. If you like having music on and hate pulling out a GPS every shot, these are kind of a game-changer.
Replaced My Golf Watch and Headphones in One Round
I used to juggle a chunky GPS watch and separate earbuds every round, constantly checking my wrist for yardages and fumbling with my phone between shots. With the TecTecTec Team8 E in my ears, I just tap for distances to the green or hazards, track my shots on the fly, and stream my music the whole 18—now I walk the course lighter, play faster, and feel more confident over every club choice.
