Kano Star Wars The Force™ Coding Kit is a kit that allows you to assemble a controller to teach you the basics of programming. It is compatible with Ipad, Amazon Fire tablets or Windows or MacOs computers and connects via Bluetooth connectivity.
Controller

The Kano Star Wars allows you to build your own controller, it's a controller that is composed of four motion sensors and each sensor has two lenses that send an infrared beam so that the controller knows where your hand is. This allows you to control different elements of the Kano, such as a lightsaber, stormtroopers, drive X-wings and many more. Built-in codes allow you to generate lightsaber sounds, or turn on the controller when you move your hand forward, backward, up, down, or around.
Compatibility

The Kano uses block coding and JavaScript, it has software that is compatible with iPads, Amazon Fire tablets or Windows or MacOs computers. It offers several challenges to teach people of all ages the basics of programming. The appearance of the lightsabers can be modified online by changing the handle and color, it also allows you to choose to fight for resistance or join the dark side of the force.
Connectivity

It connects through Bluetooth connectivity, a blue light on the side of the kit flashes when you are looking for a connection and is fixed when the connection is successful, which helps to solve possible connection problems. The controller is powered by 2 AA batteries and has a red power button that turns the device on and off.
I bought this for my niece, who's 8, and she absolutely loves it. The instructions are easy to follow, and she quickly grasped the basics of block coding. The Star Wars theme keeps her engaged, and she's constantly showing off her 'Force' powers. I'm impressed with how much she's learning while having fun.
My son is obsessed with Star Wars, and this kit was the perfect way to get him interested in coding. He loves building the sensor and making things happen on the screen with his hand motions. Seeing him swing a lightsaber and pilot an X-wing using code is just incredible! Definitely worth the money.
Surprisingly Effective Coding Tool
I was a bit skeptical at first, but the Kano Star Wars Coding Kit is actually a really well-designed educational tool. The motion sensor works great, and the software is intuitive. I appreciate that it uses both block coding and JavaScript, providing a good foundation for more advanced coding concepts. The Bluetooth connectivity was seamless on my iPad.
