It's a great idea for family fun. It is relatively easy to put together with a little help. We would have liked that the guide of use was in big letters, because we see hardly the notice with its small words. Anyway, the final product is beautiful with nice features and a bright and pleasant blue light.
I gave it to my son as a gift. At first he didn't understand the use, but I explained it to him and he quickly grasped it. Even though it requires good soldering skills it is really easy to do. We did it together for two weeks.
I had fun putting this one together. I bought it so I could waste my time on my breaks. I had a good long time. It is a good quality tool. My wife tried to get into it but gave up quickly. It's something that requires patience!

Welding kit

The Kit
The iCubeSmart consists of 512 blue square LEDs that must be mounted to create a 3D light cube that can display various dynamic and colorful lighting shapes. It is a device that is served in kit form and that needs to be assembled through welding. It includes a motherboard with 64 square holes and which offers up to 20 types of animation effects, LEDs and various accessories essential to the realization of the cube.
Software
It has a software that allows to generate a HEX engraving file and to directly see the simulation in order to download it into the cube and execute it. The software does not require any internet connectivity and is easier to use than the C language to modify the animation effects. It is a device that is perfectly suited for students' manual electronic manufacturing courses, welding exercises or electronics enthusiasts.
Motherboard
The motherboard is powered directly from the mains or from your computers thanks to a 5V adaptor, it has 4 keys that allow you to reset, start or pause, go to the next animation and to allow the loop playback of a single animation or all animations. It also includes a connector for connecting the USB programming key.
